We’re all in a hurry, and time is money. Understandable.

But when it comes to pre-trip inspection, a few minutes could easily mean the difference between a safe and timely delivery and a troubled, or missed arrival.

Regulations require a pre-trip inspection of the tractor and the container chassis; it’s for the safety of the driver and of those drivers sharing the road.

Many of us are guilty of assuming everything is in order – we just jump into the Hertz / Avis car at the airport and drive away.

An experienced and knowledgeable driver can perform a pre-trip inspection of the tractor / chassis rig in about 10 minutes.

10 minutes might seem like an eternity, but it could save much longer time by the side of the road (or worse.)

There are many sources of inspection ‘checklists’ to aid drivers. There are even cell phone apps.

Could be the best 10 minutes you ever spend. If you’re in doubt, get a mechanic’s opinion.
